The Park is situated in the SIPCOT-IT Park situated in the IT Corridor on one of the arterial roads OMR. It was designed based in the principle of decentralized production units supported by appropriate centralized services. At the present, the Park has 20 pre-built sheds in a functional layout of 1,000 sq ft. built in 2800 sq.ft. of land.
The Proposed incubating facility will provide a state-of the-art equipment and expertise to accelerate and support the research process especially for the technopreneurs. It will also continue to provide critical services and resources to nurture and develop the entrepreneurship and provide an educational environment in terms of practical hands on training in the areas of microbiology, molecular biology, analytical and instrumentation, for incubatees/start ups pursuing life sciences with special focus on biotechnology.
The units have been designed to suit various types of industries in biotechnology. The modules are offered to women entrepreneurs on rental lease terms. The Park has also developed land modules to enable entrepreneurs build their own factories or engage in agro-biotechnology services. The land modules are offered on long-term lease. The common support infrastructure includes well laid out internal road system, good storm-water drains, and potable quality water with a built-in storage capacity and 3 gen sets in a generator room. The Office building has a seminar hall with a seating capacity of 75; a couple of conference rooms with a seating capacity of 20; admin space; a small room to house a bio-informatics centre and a small library. One of the pre-built shed has been converted into a TRC - a training functional lab where hands on training are offered in the area of tissue culture, microbiology and basic techniques in molecular biology. Basic equipments for such trainings are available.
